Doctorate Certificates

The Certificate

A low-cost, high-impact way to recognise something meaningful, personal or wonderfully unofficial.

The idea behind it

Why a certificate can turn thanks, pride or love into something someone can keep.

How it works

See how to create, test print and prepare a certificate before giving it.

What it does

The Certificate is designed to celebrate achievements, relationships, contributions and life moments that fall outside the officially endorsed academic or corporate worlds.

Fundamentally, it says one of three things: thank you, I love you, or I’m proud of you. It can be completed in a genuine, heartfelt way, or in a playful, tongue-in-cheek way. Either way, the purpose is the same: to make the recipient feel seen, valued and properly recognised.

It is a simple gift with a strong emotional return. It gives people a framework for saying something they may otherwise struggle to put into words.

Who it is for

  • Adult children recognising their mother, father, step-parent or acting parent.
  • Parents recognising an adult child.
  • A protégé recognising a mentor.
  • A mentor recognising a protégé.
  • A colleague leaving gift.
  • Workplace awards, thank-you gifts and tongue-in-cheek recognition moments.
  • Friends or family members who deserve something more personal than a standard card.

How it works

  1. Create your certificate.
Use the certificate builder to draft your wording, names, title and layout. You can keep it heartfelt, formal, funny or somewhere in between.
  2. Edit until it feels right.
The builder is there to help you shape the certificate before printing. You are responsible for checking the wording, layout and spelling before you print the final version.
  3. Test print first.
Each pack includes one final certificate stock and three dummy print sheets. Use the dummy sheets first to test alignment, printer feed direction and margins.
  4. Print the final certificate.
Once the dummy runs are lining up correctly, print the fourth version on the final certificate stock. By that point, the printer setup should be tested and ready.

Important: We do not customise, print, check or approve the certificate for you. The builder is a formatting tool only. You are responsible for creating, testing and printing the final certificate.
