What it does

A hens night often holds a rare mix of people: childhood friends, sisters, mothers, aunties, cousins, bridesmaids and the people who have walked beside the bride through different seasons of life.

For Moments of Meaning gives those people a simple way to write something she can keep. Guests can share advice, funny memories, encouragement, marriage reflections, private messages, or words for the morning of the wedding and the years ahead.

The result is more than a party activity. It becomes a collection of voices from the women around her, gathered just before a major life transition.

Best suited for

  • Hens nights where the bride values sentiment but does not want anything overly formal.
  • Bridesmaids wanting a meaningful group gift.
  • Small dinners, weekends away, bridal showers or relaxed gatherings before the wedding.
  • Families wanting mothers, sisters and close friends to contribute something lasting.
  • Groups wanting a balance of humour, advice, love and private reflection.

How to make it work

Set up a small card station with prompts, pens and envelopes. Let guests write throughout the evening rather than turning it into a formal activity. Some may write something funny. Others may write marriage advice, a memory, a letter for later or a message for the wedding morning.

A memory box works well when the bride wants to keep the cards, notes, photos, invitations and small pieces from the wider wedding season together. Card packs work well when you want the writing to feel guided, polished and easy for guests to complete.

The simplest invitation is often the best: write something she will want to find again years from now.
